Amrinder Gill

Amrinder Gill (full name Amrinder Singh Gill; born 11 May 1976, Amritsar, Punjab, India) is a celebrated Punjabi actor, singer, songwriter, and film producer. With a Master’s in Agricultural Science from Guru Nanak Dev University, he first pursued a conventional career—working as a manager at Ferozepur Central Cooperative Bank—before shifting to the arts. His entertainment journey began with performing Bhangra during his college days at Khalsa College and singing for Jalandhar Doordarshan’s Kala Doria. He followed this with his debut album Apni Jaan Ke (2000), which was well-received .

He gained snowballing success with hit tracks like “Paigam,” “Daru,” “Madhaania,” “Khedan De Din,” “Mel Kara De,” and “Dildarian.” The albums Judaa (2011) and Judaa 2 (2014) earned him major accolades, including the Brit Asia Music Award for Best Album and recognition at the PTC Punjabi Music Awards

Transitioning to film, Gill’s acting debut came in 2009’s Munde U.K. De in a supporting role, followed by lead roles in Ik Kudi Punjab Di, Taur Mittran Di, and Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22. He truly broke out as a full-fledged Punjabi cinema icon with hits like Angrej (2015), Love Punjab (2016), Lahoriye (2017), Ashke (2018), and the Chal Mera Putt series (2019–2021), produced under his own banner Rhythm Boyz Entertainment.

Expanding his creative repertoire, Gill directed and produced Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya (2022), which grossed ₹39 crore and was both a commercial and critical success . He continues to shape Punjabi cinema, recently co-producing Jodi (2023) and announcing two more upcoming projects .

His artistic excellence has been recognized with seven PTC Punjabi Film Awards (including Best Actor for Angrej, Love Punjab, Lahoriye), two Filmfare Awards Punjabi, among others—totaling 16 wins from 50+ nominations.
