Ashika Ranganath

Ashika Ranganath was born on 5 August 1996 in Tumakuru (Tumkur), Karnataka, into a Kannada-speaking family. Her father, N. Ranganath, is a civil contractor, and her mother, Sudha Ranganath, is a homemaker. She has an elder sister, Anusha Ranganath, who is also an actress in Kannada cinema

She attended Bishop Sargant School in Tumkur and later moved to Bangalore for pre‑university studies at Jyoti Nivas College, where she participated in the Clean and Clear Fresh Face Bangalore contest in 2014 and finished as the runner-up. That competition led director Mahesh Babu to cast her in the Kannada film Crazy Boy (2016), marking her acting debut

Ashika trained in several dance styles including freestyle, Bollywood, belly, and western dance, which added flair to her onscreen presence After her debut, she appeared in a string of Kannada films like Mugulu Nage, Mass Leader (opposite Shivrajkumar), Raju Kannada Medium, and Thayige Thakka Maga, establishing herself in Sandalwood

Her breakthrough came with the 2018 hit Raambo 2, where she played a spirited medical student Mayuri. The film’s song “Chutu Chutu” became the first Kannada song to garner over 100 million views on YouTube, and she earned a SIIMA nomination for Best Actress – Kannada She later won the SIIMA award for Best Actress – Kannada for Madhagaja (2021) and received further nominations for Raymo and Raambo 2

Branching into other languages, she made her Tamil debut with Pattathu Arasan (2022) as Pavithra, followed by Miss You (2024) and a role in Sardar 2 opposite Karthi (2025)  In Telugu, she debuted with Amigos (2023) as Ishika and starred opposite Nagarjuna in Naa Saami Ranga (2024), which was commercially well received; critics praised her for “stealing scenes

More recently, she starred in the Kannada medical thriller O2 (2024) playing Dr. Shraddha, which earned positive reviews for its fresh concept and engaging storytelling She is also cast in upcoming big‑budget films such as Vishwambhara (Telugu, with Chiranjeevi), Miss You (Tamil), Sardar 2 (Tamil), and Gathavaibhava (Kannada)

Known for her vivacious screen presence and disciplined work ethic—Ashika says working across languages has deepened her professionalism—she also enjoys a strong fashion profile and is among the most followed Kannada actresses on social media.
