Erin Anne Gray, born January 7, 1950, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American actress and model best known for her iconic roles in science fiction television during the late 1970s and 1980s. Raised in California, Gray began her career as a model in the late 1960s and quickly rose to fame in the 1970s as one of America’s top TV and print models. Her striking beauty and poised demeanor led her to secure major modeling contracts, including a high-profile campaign with Max Factor, which solidified her presence in the fashion world.

Gray’s acting breakthrough came when she was cast as Colonel Wilma Deering in the NBC television series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979–1981). Her portrayal of the strong, intelligent, and authoritative Deering was groundbreaking for the time, offering audiences a capable female character in a genre traditionally dominated by men. Gray’s performance earned her a devoted fanbase and cemented her as a science fiction icon.
