Mehreen Kaur Pirzada was born on 5 November 1995 in Bathinda, Punjab, India, into a Punjabi Sikh family—her father, Gurlal Pirzada, is an agriculturist and realtor, and her mother, Paramjit Kaur Pirzada, is a homemaker. She has a younger brother, Gurfateh Pirzada, who is also an actor and model.
From a young age, Mehreen showed interest in modeling, winning the title of Kasauli Princess at a beauty pageant at the age of 10. In 2013, she was crowned Miss Personality South Asia Canada during a pageant in Toronto, which opened doors to numerous modeling assignments, print ads, and commercials for brands such as Dove India, Nikon, Pears, and Thumbs Up.

She attended a convent school in Punjab before enrolling at Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer, where she was active in the student council. Later, at Pathways World School, Aravali, she pursued IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. During school, Mehreen volunteered with the National Cadet Corps, served in the Rotary Interact Club, learned air pistol shooting, and trained in Bharatnatyam dance. She was also awarded the Bronze/Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award for adventure and trekking.

Telugu debut (2016): Mehreen made her film debut with Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (as Mahalakshmi), opposite Nani—a commercial success and earned her praise as a polished newcomer.

Hindi debut & 2017 breakout: Featured as Anu Gill in Phillauri (2017), alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Anushka Sharma, and Suraj Sharma. Though the film underperformed, critics noted Mehreen’s “spark” on screen.

Mehreen was briefly engaged to politician Bhavya Bishnoi in March 2021. However, the engagement was called off in July 2021 for personal reasons.
