Ram Charan

Ram Charan is a prominent Indian actor, producer, and entrepreneur, primarily known for his work in Telugu cinema. Born on March 27, 1985, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, he is the son of legendary Telugu actor Chiranjeevi and Surekha Konidela. Coming from a family deeply rooted in the film industry, Ram Charan was exposed to cinema at an early age, which influenced his eventual foray into acting.

He made his acting debut in 2007 with the film “Chirutha”, directed by Puri Jagannadh. Though a newcomer, Charan’s performance was widely praised and earned him the Filmfare Best Male Debut – South. His breakthrough came with “Magadheera” (2009), a fantasy-action film directed by S. S. Rajamouli. The film became one of the highest-grossing Telugu movies at the time and established Ram Charan as a leading star in the industry.

Over the years, he has delivered several successful films, including “Racha,” “Naayak,” “Yevadu,” “Dhruva,” “Rangasthalam,” and the globally acclaimed “RRR” (2022), where he played the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju. His performance in Rangasthalam won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu, while RRR earned international recognition, including global box office success and a historic Oscar win for Best Original Song (Naatu Naatu).

Apart from acting, Ram Charan is also a successful film producer under his banner Konidela Production Company, which has produced films like Khaidi No. 150 and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. He is also a savvy businessman and owns the TruJet airline, among other ventures.

Ram Charan is married to Upasana Kamineni, the Vice Chairperson of Apollo Foundation and a well-known philanthropist. The couple got married in 2012 and welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in June 2023.

Known for his powerful screen presence, dance skills, and dedication to his craft, Ram Charan continues to be a significant force in Indian cinema and is regarded as one of the highest-paid and most influential actors in the Telugu film industry.
