Yami Gautam is a prominent Indian actress known for her versatility and grace across Hindi cinema as well as regional films. Born on November 28, 1988, in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Yami was raised in Chandigarh. She hails from a family with a strong cultural background; her father, Mukesh Gautam, is a renowned director in Punjabi cinema. Initially aspiring to pursue a career in IAS, Yami was studying law honors when she realized her passion for acting and shifted her focus to the entertainment industry.

Yami made her acting debut on television with shows like “Chand Ke Paar Chalo” and “Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam”, gaining attention for her expressive performance. Her big break in films came in 2012 with the romantic comedy “Vicky Donor” opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
