Ashwin Saravanan is an acclaimed Indian filmmaker and screenwriter best known for his work in the Tamil cinema industry. Emerging as a refreshing voice in the realm of psychological thrillers and horror, Ashwin made a significant mark with his debut feature film, Maya (2015), which starred Nayanthara in the lead role. His storytelling style, which blends suspense, emotion, and surreal narrative structures, has been widely appreciated by both critics and audiences alike.

Born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Ashwin developed a passion for cinema at a young age. Though he began his professional career in a different domain, his love for storytelling eventually led him to the film industry. In 2021, he directed Connect, another horror-thriller featuring Nayanthara and Anupam Kher, which dealt with themes of isolation and the supernatural during the COVID-19 lockdown.
