Rajnish Thakur
Rajnish Thakur is an Indian writer-director and occasional actor, renowned for his multi-faceted contributions to Bollywood since the early 2000s. Born and raised in Bhagalpur district in Bihar, he pursued a degree in history from Delhi University’s Hansraj College, graduating in 1993 Originally intending to enter the civil services, Thakur eventually shifted his focus toward the creative arts. He enrolled in a one-year film direction course at the Xavier Institute of Communication in Mumbai
Thakur launched his film career in various writing roles: he penned story, screenplay and dialogues for Ram Gopal Varma’s psychological thriller Road (2002), starring Vivek Oberoi and Manoj BajpayeeHe further established himself as a storyboard writer for the comedy Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001) and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya… (2001)
In 2011, Thakur stepped into direction with the crime‑comedy Loot, featuring Suniel Shetty and Govinda. Despite mixed reviews and lackluster box‑office returns, the film marked his transition into directing He followed it with Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai (2012), which he directed and wrote; the film included prominent actors such as Sunil Shetty, Rajpal Yadav and Om Puri. Unfortunately, it failed commercially
As an actor, Thakur has taken very limited screen roles. One of his few acting credits was a brief appearance as a hotel receptionist in Road (2002)
