Sunil Hingorani

Sunil Hingorani is a noted Indian filmmaker who began his career in the Indian film industry as a writer, contributing to the screenplay of Khel Khilari Ka (1977). He later advanced to directing, with his debut film Karishma Kudrat Kaa (1985), featuring a star-studded cast including Dharmendra, Anita Raj, Mithun Chakraborty, and Rati AgnihotriHe followed this with Ram-Avtar (1988), starring Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Sridevi  Sunil Hingorani hails from a film-oriented family: he is the nephew of Arjun Hingorani, a director credited with launching actors like Dharmendra and Sadhana Shivdasani, and the brother of director Anil HingoraniHe married actress Anita Raj in 1986, and they share a son, Shivam Hingorani  Beyond cinema, Sunil established ventures outside the film industry—most notably, the Juhu restaurant “Balthazar” with decor he personally designed, and a successful optician business where he’s credited as the first in India to use plastic lenses in spectacles His career took a turn from mainstream cinema after the late 1980s, and more recently, he made a television comeback directing the series Nobody Wants Half (also known as Pura Glass Pani) in 2023.
